Kyle Kingsley, M.D. /

Kyle Kingsley, M.D., is the founder of Vireo Health and has served as the Chief Executive Officer since inception. Dr. Kingsley is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and co-author of the Medical Cannabis Primer for Healthcare Providers, which was written for physicians and other healthcare providers to improve cannabis-derived medicine education and understanding in the medical community.

Dr. Kinglsey received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts degree in German from University of Minnesota in Duluth and received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Stephen Dahmer, M.D. /

Dr. Stephen M. Dahmer is a board-certified family doctor whose passion for health and healing has taken him around the globe. A fellow of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, for over a decade he has studied the relationships between plants and people, working closely with diverse cultures and documenting their uses of plants.

Aspiring to understand ethnomedical systems as well as the plants and traditional beliefs that support them, he has worked in divergent settings including Umbanda terreiros in the heart of Brazil’s second largest slum, Maori clinics in New Zealand, native healers on the Palauan Islands, and as a hospitalist to the Navajo (Dine) Tribe in Chinle, Arizona. Prior to starting full time work for Vireo Health of New York, Dr. Dahmer was most recently Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he passionately provided innovative primary care for over seven years in New York City where he lives and resides with his family.

Amber Shimpa /

Amber Shimpa is responsible for all aspects of the company’s finance, accounting, treasury, investor relations and administrative functions. She has 14 years of experience as a financial services professional with various commercial and investment banking organizations. At Vireo Health (and Minnesota Medical Solutions), Ms. Shimpa drives the company’s planning initiative of which the foundation is to provide the safest, most reliable medical cannabis to patients at a price that is supportable given the higher cost of quality, optimal manufacturing practices that Vireo Health bears, along with the continued review of financial planning as it relates to Internal Revenue Code §280E.

Prior to joining Vireo Health, Ms. Shimpa spent the last nine years as Vice President of a $1.6 billion bank focused on commercial, nationwide lending. Her experience in the highly-regulated banking environment has engrained quality and control in her leadership and financial management approach. Banking is often seen as a challenge for operators within the cannabis industry. Ms. Shimpa’s understanding of the strict compliance requirements in the banking industry, coupled with Vireo Health’s scientific and safe medical model, have led to welcoming discussions with banks, and ultimately the first known open banking relationship with a cannabis-related company in the country.

Ari Hoffnung /

Mr. Hoffnung serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Vireo Health, LLC and the Chief Executive Officer of Vireo Health of New York. Mr. Hoffnung was previously the founder and CEO of Fiorello Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a medical cannabis company. Prior to that, Mr. Hoffnung served as New York City’s Deputy Comptroller for Budget & Public Affairs, where he oversaw the City’s $70 billion budget, managed a 100+ employee staff, and served as the chief liaison to all levels of governments and to various labor unions.

Prior to serving in New York City government, Mr. Hoffnung was a Managing Director at Bear Stearns, where he worked for more than a decade. Mr. Hoffnung also led a research team composed of economists and policy experts that published two-dozen white papers, including two ground-breaking and widely-cited reports on the public-health and economic impacts of reforming cannabis policies: 100,000 Reasons: Medical Marijuana In The Big Apple and Regulating and Taxing Marijuana: The Fiscal Impact on NYC. He holds an Masters of Business Administration in Finance degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree from Queens College.

Jeff Lendino, JD /

General Counsel
Jeff Lendino is General Counsel of Vireo Health and its affiliates. Mr. Lendino is an experienced commercial lawyer with a track record of developing and leading the legal function in a fast-paced, start-up culture. He has primary responsibility for oversight and management of Vireo’s legal affairs on a nationwide basis. He provides counsel to Vireo’s executive team and CEO on regulatory compliance, commercial and enterprise risk, general corporate and transactional matters, mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships, employment law, litigation management, and intellectual property.

Prior to joining Vireo Mr. Lendino held roles in both the public and private sectors. He most recently served as General Counsel of Kroll Ontrack, LLC a leading global provider of information technology software and services to the legal industry. Prior to his work at Kroll Ontrack, Mr. Lendino served in the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office in Minneapolis, MN in both the criminal and civil divisions. In the criminal division, his responsibilities included the investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses and his work in the civil division involved providing advice and counsel to (and litigating on behalf of) various county departments including the Hennepin County Sherriff’s Office, Hennepin County Medical Center and the Hennepin County Board.

Me Lendino earned his BA from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN in 1993 and his JD from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, MN in 1999.

Siyeon Lee, PhD /

Head Formulation Scientist
Dr. Siyeon Lee is the Head Formulation Scientist for Vireo Health. Dr. Lee leads Vireo Health’s efforts to develop new and innovative cannabinoid formulations. Prior to joining Vireo Health Dr. Lee was a post doctoral research fellow at Stony Brook University where she worked on novel plant-derived anti-cancer therapeutics. Siyeon received a bachelors degree in chemistry and a masters degree in chemistry from Chung Ang University; and a PhD in chemistry from Stony Brook University.

Cory Carter /

Chief Horticultural Officer
Mr. Carter is the Chief Horticultural Officer at Vireo Health. His robust skill set enables him to provide for the efficient and repeatable production of the highest quality, cannabis based medicines. Mr. Carter oversees all of the horticultural operations for Vireo Health. He received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Minnesota and a M.A. degree in Horticulture. During this program he was involved with research and development of polyacrylamide hydrogels and their uses to lower water use in large scale production systems. His specialties lie in all forms of soil based and hydroponic production systems along with an emphasis in nutrient usage in agricultural crops as well as greenhouse crops. Mr. Carter currently selects and breeds all of the varieties which make up Vireo’s medicines. Mr. Carter is also involved with site layout, design and implementation of Vireo’s production systems, as well as education of all of Vireo Health’s cultivation staffs.

Jennifer Duey /

Chief Compliance Officer
Jennifer Duey serves as Vireo’s Chief Compliance Officer and brings over 17 years’ law enforcement/security experience at the private, local, and federal levels. She served over 14 years in the federal government as a Criminal Investigator/Special Agent with the Departments of Justice, Treasury, and Homeland Security.

Jennifer has been involved in hundreds of federal criminal investigations and has extensive experience planning, organizing, and conducting criminal and administrative investigations for a myriad of offenses. In addition to her law enforcement/security experience, Jennifer has over 2 years’ experience working as a Quality Control Manager in the manufacturing industry.

She is familiar with ISO 9001 Quality Management standards, and worked closely with both US and international regulatory agencies during compliance audits and inspections.

Jennifer has developed, implemented and managed quality control systems that ensured continuous production of material and applications. Jennifer earned a BS Degree in Criminal Justice, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Columbia College. She also holds a MS Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master in Public Administration, both from Nova Southeastern University.

Eric Greenbaum, JD /

Chief Intellectual Property Officer
Eric Greenbaum is the Chief Intellectual Property Officer of Vireo Health and has an impressive combination of scientific and legal expertise. Eric began his career working on stem cell and gene therapies for neurometabolic diseases. He went on to explore the role of protein folding in neurodegenerative diseases and led the team that performed the first biochemical characterization of the newly discovered E46K mutation responsible for a form of early onset Parkinson‘s Disease. After leaving academic science, Eric ran a boutique IP law firm where he crafted global patent strategies for biotech and pharmaceutical inventions. Since joining Vireo Health, Eric has been instrumental in developing our IP portfolio and driving our R&D efforts. Eric received a bachelors of science from Emory University in neuroscience; a masters of science from the University of Pennsylvania in pharmacology; and a JD from St. John’s University.

Sixin Jiang, PhD /

Manufacturing Technician
Dr. Sixin Jiang is a manufacturing technician for Vireo Health responsible for formulating our cannabis based medications. Prior to joining Vireo Health, Dr. Jiang was a post doctoral fellow at Albany Medical College where she developed a diverse skill set in biochemistry, molecular biology and pharmacology. Sixin received a bachelors degree in agriculture and plant protection and a masters degree in microbial genetics from Nanjing Agricultural University; and a PhD in biochemistry & molecular biology from Indiana University.

Dr. Satija has over 12 years of experience in retail pharmacy. She received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Dr. Satija began her career in San Francisco, California where she worked as a pharmacy manager as well as a travel health pharmacist. In San Francisco, she devoted a lot of her time helping HIV patients manage their medications as well as any side effects they experienced. Dr. Satija was also an associate professor at the University of California San Francisco.

In the previous 5 years, Dr. Satija has been a pharmacy manager for a large retail chain in New York City where she devoted much of her time to developing trusting patient relationships. During her time in New York, she has become an American Pharmacist Association Certified Immunization Trainer as well as a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist.

Mr. O’Neill is the CBDO at Vireo Health and brings extensive experience in business development, corporate strategy, finance, real estate, project management, marketing and customer service having held senior leadership positions at several multi-national companies. His business acumen and focus on patient access optimization help to create the organization’s strategy for patient care locations and manufacturing facilities.
