How to get your Medical Card.

New York State’s medical marijuana program was developed to help patients with serious conditions better manage their symptoms, including chronic pain.

If you have one of the qualifying conditions (include link to our conditions), the first step is to speak with your provider to discuss whether or not medical marijuana can help treat your symptoms. If your provider is not registered with the Department of Health’s medical marijuana program, the Department has a list of certified providers who have consented to having their names shared publicly. You can find that list here. (https://www.health.ny.gov/regulations/medical_marijuana/practitioner/public_list.htm)

After you receive a recommendation from a certified provider, you can then create an online account to receive your medical marijuana card here (https://my.ny.gov/). Instructions on how to create the account can be found here (https://www.health.ny.gov/regulations/medical_marijuana/docs/my_ny_gov_instructions.pdf).

The medical marijuana card is what will allow you to make appointments (https://vireohealth.com/ny/make-an-appointment/), visit our dispensaries (https://vireohealth.com/ny/make-an-appointment/), order our products (https://vireohealth.com/ny/products/) or receive home delivery (https://vireohealth.com/ny/delivery/).

If you have any questions throughout the process, you can reach us at patients@vireohealth.com or 844-4-VIREONY.

How Do I Qualify for Medical Marijuana?

You are eligible to receive medical marijuana if you are a legal New York resident and your doctor/registered practitioner feels that the condition(s) you have would benefit from medical marijuana treatment. Registered practitioners can now legally prescribe medical cannabis for any condition they see fit. Although there are no longer limits to the qualifying conditions, you can review the list below of conditions that were traditionally accepted for medical marijuana patient certification. Please speak with your healthcare provider or visit https://www.health.ny.gov/regulations/medical_marijuana_practitioner_list/ for information on finding a registered practitioner near you!
